The Town of Avon and Traer Creek LLC today jointly announce that Traer Creek has conveyed Lot 8, Filing 1, within The Village (at Avon) to the Town of Avon at no cost, for the purpose of developing Community Housing. This conveyance advances a shared, long-standing commitment to developing workforce housing. The conveyance is made pursuant to the Village (at Avon) Planned Unit Development amendment approved by the Avon Town Council in May of 2026.
Lot 8 is now incorporated into a newly created planning area known as Planning Area CH-1, which limits development to Community Housing. This land is located next to the new Lettuce Patch Early Learning Center scheduled to open this fall. The zoning designation allows up to 24 Community Housing units on the land. The conveyance builds on what has now been over a decade of collaboration between the Town of Avon and Traer Creek.
“Providing Community Housing has always been part of the long-term vision for The Village (at Avon),” said Michael Lindholm, a Traer Creek LLC principal. “We are proud to partner with the Town of Avon to deliver housing that keeps local families and the local workforce in the community they support every day.”
“Housing remains Avon’s number one priority,” said Town Manager Eric Heil, “This conveyance provides another opportunity for Avon to develop more home ownership opportunities. We appreciate our collaboration with Traer Creek LLC on this project.”
The next step will be to define a conceptual design process that is inclusive of the adjacent neighborhood, which process is expected to start in late 2026.
