A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect from 10 AM to 10 PM MDT today for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels.

We have Red Flag Warnings in effect for Tuesday and Wednesday as well.

Southwest winds are expected between 20-30 miles per hour with 8 to 13 percent humidity.

Per a 2023 Eagle County Ordinance, we automatically go into Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.

Stage 1 means zero personal fireworks.  No fires outside of a permanently constructed fire pit, ring or grate.

Charcoal grills and tiki torches are not allowed–it’s any device with fire that does not have a shut-off valve

The White River National Forest will temporarily close motorized access to Missouri-Fancy and Hunky Dory trailheads to protect public health and safety during critical road maintenance. Homestake Road (FSR 703) will remain open, providing motorized access to Lonesome Lake Trailhead, Whitney Lake Trailhead and the Homestake Valley and Gold Park campgrounds. Missouri-Fancy and Hunky Dory Trailheads will only be accessible through non-motorized means.

An All-Clear at Summit High School after a bomb threat.  The threat was meant for a school in New Jersey and not Colorado. Deputies confirmed there was no real threat.  The school in New Jersey was okay too. Summit High School finished for the school year this past Friday.
