A federal bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The price is $14.8 million. A group called Gondola Ventures will take over. Glenwood Caverns founder Steve Beckley will retain a 20% stake. The company filed for bankruptcy protection 8 months ago after a wrongful death judgment last year of over $200 million.
The Town of Nederland this week said they are still trying to get a deal done to buy Eldora Mountain Resort….but, they need about $20 million in donations to make it happen. Nederland’s mayor reached out this week and said that they wanted to sell bonds to finance the transaction. That won’t be enough.
New Drought Monitor out yesterday. Some good news for Colorado following a wet September in a lot of the state. Portions of southern Colorado, the Eastern Plains and northwest Colorado all improved. Eagle and Lake Counties did not. We are still in D4 or Exceptional Drought. The only two counties in the state that have not seen any significant drought relief.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife have lifted some voluntary and mandatory fishing closures around the state. The Eagle is no longer under a closure. There are now some seasonal closures in effect for spawning trout on Threemile, Fourmile, Grizzly, No Name, and Canyon creeks.
