Even though there are still puffs of smoke coming from the Willow Fire, Lake County has lifted all fire restrictions. The Sheriff’s Office said that as of late yesterday, the improved weather conditions have made it safe to have fires again. No wildfire restrictions.
Stage One restrictions are still in effect in the White River National Forest along with Eagle and Summit counties.
Fire behavior on the Willow Fire remains minimal overall. Humidity and rain showers have kept fire activity moderate. There are uncontrolled sections in the Mount Massive Wilderness area due to hazardous conditions and rough terrain. This area has a low spread potential. In the past few days, the Willow Fire has received over an inch of rain.
If you are headed to the east side of Denver this weekend, be aware that C-DOT is implementing two 83 hour continuous closures for critical bridge repairs over Kipling. That means if you are headed to DIA. Expect a long, slow detour around. The first starts at 7 tonight. The second will be next weekend.
The first snow of the season has fallen on a Colorado ski resort. Keystone Resort says it started around 8 o’clock on Wednesday night. Last year, Keystone didn’t see snow until September 21st.
HS Sports. Battle Mountain soccer shut out Summit, 2-nil last night. Antonio Escalara had assists on both those goals.
Eagle Valley soccer suffered their first loss of the season to Glenwood. 3-2 the final last night. Devils are now 6-1.
