Born and raised in the flatlands of Kansas, Austin (aka A-Train) set his sights on the mountains to pursue a new adventure in journalism. After honing his skills at publications like Vail Valley Business Today, Beaver Creek Times, Eagle Valley Enterprise, and his all-time favorite, the Leadville Chronicle, he also made his mark as the web editor at the Vail Daily.

But radio was always in his blood. Starting out at Radio Free Minturn, Austin gained the hands-on experience that set him up for his next move: going pro on the airwaves. Now, one of the voices behind 97.7 FM, he’s bringing his unique perspective and energy to the mountain community every weekend.

When he’s not on the mic, A-Train enjoys hitting the golf course, diving into a good book, and taking long walks to soak in the scenery. And yes, he’s a serious movie buff!
