Due to cool temperatures and late-season snowfall (for a current total of 440″ over the course of the season), Arapahoe Basin Ski Area has added two more weekends when it will definitely be open for skiing: June 13-15 and June 20-22. Starting 6/2, the resort will be closed during the week (though uphill access is often allowed when the lifts are not running), but open every weekend at least through the 22nd.
“We’re usually open for Mother’s Day weekend, but now the dads get their weekend,” said Adrienne Saia Isaac, communications manager. Last year the resort was unable to stay open through Father’s Day, but this year the mountains received a lot more snow. Just this past Monday, A Basin reported three new inches of the fresh stuff! It may feel like biking, rafting, climbing and golf are our new sporting focuses here in Vail, but keep in mind that there’s no need to put the skis and boards away just yet!
