Last DJ airs every Friday morning at 7:30am. Guests play music of their choosing and discuss local happenings, their businesses, and more.Today we featured cycling coach and personal trainer Rod Connolly of Dogma Athletica.

dogma logoA true Colorado native, Rod grew up in a family where health and fitness were part of everyday life. They hiked. They ran. They biked. And most of all, they made it fun. He expanded on those passions, earning degrees in Biochemistry and Kinesiology. Then, a decade ago, he became certified in the fitness industry and as a USA cycling coach.

Today, Rod’s impressive cycling resume includes racing, coaching, dynamic bike fitting and building custom cycling orthotics. He’s worked extensively with Boulder Sports Medicine and USA cycling, creating training protocols and therapies for cycling-related injuries. He has earned personal training certifications from ACSM, NSCA and ACE. And he continues with his education through USA cycling.

Rods natural gift seems to be his eye for movement and deciphering imbalances or potential limitations for his clients, as well being able to break down the science behind the training. He then formulates a training program to provide balance and functional strength for the individual.
Rods training sessions are very challenging as he is adept at getting the clients to test their limits but still keeps the training atmosphere fun and uplifting.
Rod loves spending time with his best friend and wife, Michelle and their two beautiful daughters, Rosie and AJ. He enjoys yoga, strength training, traveling and cooking. Today, his studies continue as he focuses on nutrition and healthy organic eating—and sharing this knowledge (and the occasional recipe) with his clients.
