For centuries, Stonehenge has been considered one of the great mysteries of early civilization. However, a new theory recently surfaced in which researchers from London’s Royal College of Art have discovered the musical qualities of Stonehenge’s rocks, leading them to suggest that Stonehenge was, in fact “the first real musical instrument – after the voice and basic drums.” When struck with hammers, many of the stones sound like bells, drums and gongs in many different notes, and ancient markings suggest they were in fact played as such: the original “rock music.” Click here to learn more and to hear the rocks being played!
