Winning for the second time  in as many days at Beaver Creek, Switzerland’s Lara Gut took the Super G by nearly a second today at Beaver Creek World Cup event. She was joined on the podium by a pair of Australians Anna Fenninger and Nicole Hosp in the only FIS World Cup event to be held on American slopes this year.

It was another tough day for the home team as Leanne Smith was the highest placing American in 23rd.

It was Gut’s third win in only 4 events held thus far.  She is clearly establishing herself as the one to beat and will go for the clean sweep tomorrow in the Giant Slalom.  American and Eagle Vail resident Mikaela Shiffrin will be looking to repeat her victorious performance at the last World Cup event where she took the gold.

Meanwhile in Lake Louise, Bode Miller took third place in the Men’s Downhill event.  The men will be in town next week for the Birds Of Prey annual stop on the men’s tour.
