CDOT wishes to let everyone know that construction on the I-70 Eagle Interchange Project will continue during the Eagle County Fair taking place July 24-27. Crews have arranged a modified working schedule to keep traffic moving as efficiently and safely as possible through the construction zones.
While the fairgrounds are not directly adjacent to the construction project we understand that the Fair will draw additional traffic from all directions. Direct access to the fairgrounds will not be impacted by the construction. However, traffic delays are expected through the area. Drivers headed to the fairgrounds from Chambers Avenue should plan ahead with additional time in their schedules due to the increased volume of travelers on the road.
One lane in each direction of Eby Creek Road will remain open and be available to Eagle County Fair attendees. On Thursday, Eby Creek Road, between Chambers and I-70 will have a single lane closure for paving of the median between 7am and 5pm. The construction and paving work will be suspended until 11pm allowing Eagle County Fair visitors to travel easily to and from the fairgrounds for the Thursday night rodeo. No lane closures are planned for Friday and no construction work is planned for Friday night or Saturday.
The Colorado Department of Transportation and Flatiron Constructors wish everyone a safe and happy 2013 Eagle County Fair, and appreciate the patience of all visitors throughout the construction process.
